Youth Volunteer Information

Boys and girls between the ages of 11-17 may volunteer at camp to receive service hours for Scouts and/or school. Youth Volunteers receive a camp t-shirt and commemorative patch.  There is no registration fee for Youth Volunteers, however there is a small $10 fee to help cover the cost of lunches provided during the week.  


Youth volunteers help in the following ways:


  • Rotation Helpers
  • Den Helpers
  • Administrative Helpers

Volunteer Training Dates

See the Important Dates page to subscribe to our Google Calendar. The dates listed below are required for all volunteers. Please make every effort to attend.

  • Adult & Youth Volunteer Mandatory Training - June 26th, OCBSA Headquarters Santa Ana. Time: TBD
  • Adult & Youth Volunteer Mandatory Training - July 6th, OCBSA Headquarters Santa Ana. Time: TBD
  • T-Shirt Pick-Up Day - July 6th, OCBSA Headquarters Santa Ana. Time: TBD

Optional Training:

  • Archery Range Volunteer Training - June 2 or June 8 from 1:00-5:00, Oso Lake Boy Scout Camp

Medical & Release Forms

All campers and volunteers are required to complete BSA Medical Forms A & B, Outdoor Education Center release form, and provide a front & back copy of your insurance card. Once you register for day camp through the BSA website, please complete the medical forms and mail them, along with the copy of your insurance card, to:

After Camp Swimming for Youth Volunteers

REGISTRATION FOR AFTER CAMP SWIMMING NOT OPEN YET

Youth volunteers are invited to cool off after their session of Cub Scout Day Camp in the IROEC recreational pool from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday, July 16-Thursday, July 19. Please bring swimming clothes, towel, sunscreen, and a snack. Flat fee of $40 for Youth Volunteers. An OEC Recreational Waiver and parent permission form must be completed for each youth volunteer participating.
